Im a pretty fortunate guy...

So i decided i needed to start collecting things. It used to be football and basketball cards when i was a young buc, then it used to be shoes... but that got expensive, then hats...but i havent seen a good hat in a long time so i have moved on to fortunes. If fortunes really hold their meaning... im a pretty fortunate guy.

Rehashing the roots of the best sport out there...

Bob hurley speaks out and tells us why, even during the worst recession we have seen in decades, surfing will prosper.

On average, surfboards are only $200 to $400 higher at retail than they were thirty years ago when you could rent a two-bedroom duplex a stone's throw from First Peak in Pleasure Point for $225 a month!

So one might ask Why did I get into this? That's easy (and admittedly a bit cheesy). It was the love, not just of surfing, but the way of life. It was the smell of wax, the wearing of flip-flops, the kid fixing dings around the back and the scent of resin wafting inside. It was sitting down to read the new magazine right when the mailman (who everyone knew by name) dropped it off. It was the customers who came back in after their session to say how great their new pintail worked. It was free of stress, free of confines, just plain free...period. "We have the dream," Hurley contends. "The dream is to live a surfing lifestyle and hang around with beautiful people and do neat things. Everybody wants to be part of the dream, and we want to invite everybody in."

Extremely random thoughts, but some good ones...

Listen up… if you’re bored you’re a boring person. Don’t keep searching for the truth just let go of your opinions. Curiosity never killed the cat, the cat was just stupid. Be classy, but not over concerned with your appearance. Find a good teacher and listen closely. Live every act fully as if it’s your last. Turn the TV off and do something productive! There is nothing wrong with a little bit of peace and love but if your have a problem with war I dare you to go find a better country to live in, and if we need to go to war we will and you better support our president every damn step of the way. Drunk driving will kill your best friends and family. The problem for us is we think we have time… but we are wrong, time has us. Keep confident and have noble spirit. Passionately chase your dreams and don’t ever stop. Live today as if you were your next life begins tomorrow. Sing with a full voice, even if you are horrible and enjoy every second of it. Diversify yourself but not in a desperate way (indie kids take note). Discover your talents and show them off (in a humble way), it’s fun. Learn how to properly dance with someone, you will get more action than Elvis in his prime…well… maybe not. Be confident but not cocky. Most importantly find your spiritual path and pray and remember that a man is always tallest when he is on his knees. Put a smile on your face and don’t ever stop giving thanks to the big man up top!
